Craftsman High Speed Lathe Tools 228501-228508 - 1 reply

Picked up this 8 piece set from a friend. Can’t find any info on it. Handles are a little over 12” long with 4” chisels. It says high speed steel on the handle and made in USA – any one have an idea how old they may be? Is it really steel or is it carbide?

Laminating 2x6s - 4 replies

Putting together my workbench top – is there a faster way by hand to get some of the twist/cups out so these gaps close up? The one well-functioning plane I have is a Jack plane. I guess this is why they call it woodworking, huh?

Streets of (NO)LA - 7 replies

I happened to take a detour between jobs today and came across this peculiar old beam piece. It appears to have some sort of charring as if it’d been through a house fire. (this was in the patchwork neighborhoods of Garden District New Orleans on the fringe of Central City where anything goes). Anyways, besides pulling out the 100+ nails, ...

My boss appears to have gifted me with this piece of equipment that’s been sitting in storage for a number of years but I’ve only taken a peek at it underneath a dirty cover in the attic of our shop. Before he gets a forklift involved to lower it in down to a new life, is there a resource out there that will walk me through getting t...

It measures 25.375” in length, is this considered a jointer plane? I picked this up a...
