Is there any other good dust extractor? - 6 replies
Whatever the terminology, I need a machine that will collect wood chips and dust from my wood machines. My tablesaw and bandsaw have 4” inlets so I would want a product with that capability. My Rikon http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/851091/Rikon-Portable-Dust-Extractor.aspx just died and although a good machine, I wanted to see if there wa...

My Bandsaw is Smoking!!!!! - 13 replies
I have a Rikon 10-325 and I must admit that so far it has been a pretty good machine. I use it infrequently, but whn I do I am cutting 12” logs, which seems to be taking its toll. When I mount my new blade and tension it, the wheel is incredibly hard to turn. Not impossible, but it seems like it should be easier. I can hear a noise that so...

best contractor table saw? - 18 replies
I’ve been looking around for a new table saw for a while now. I currently own a $150 skil saw which is ok but doesn’t give me nearly the accuracy I need for some of my newer projects. It also seems somewhat unsafe since the safety mechs aren’t fully functional. Anyways, I have been looking on Craigslist for a good deal and ever...

Lathe issues - 12 replies
I have a problem that I thought you guys might be able to answer. About a month ago I bought a jet 1014I lathe and have been pretty happy with it up until now. The tailstock just doesn’t tighten down. If I tighten the bolt underneath it works once then loosens. I tried thread lock to no avail. Any help?
