Sadley, my garden bench was made from used treated pine(decking). I know most of you guys would have used white Oak, but hey. Lots of jointery here. and you can see where the armrests are comming apart. Well maybe not from the pictures, but the thick peices are 2x’s face glued to make 3”. My mistake was to think that I could get away with using liquid nails! What a mistake. The feet and all other glued pcs got the weathered titebond. Just the 2 armrest were “rushed”. The back slats are motised into the top and bott rails about 1/2-3/4”. And all other components are mortised and tennoned together. Even though she was built from used treated decking, she is built well, and should last for decades.. Taken directly from woodworkers jounal.
The plate reads “Dedicated to Dad” – since he passed, and was a big time gardner.

the “planters” are also taken from WWJ..

Drive some screws through there and plug them before it’s too late ;) nice work though. I like the curved stretcher across the front.

Awesome! I like your outdoor furniture, very nice looking and great detail, save the arms!
