So last week was me and the wife’s anniversary 16 years she has put up with me. She is really into horses so I tried my hand at some carving, I think the horse turned out ok but I’m not real happy with the horse shoe. But she loved it and thats all that matters.

Made from cherry that came from the cabinets out of our old house, mitered the corners and put a vertical spline of maple yup I said vertical, just wanted to do something different. I think after the cherry patinas the maple will really stand out and look sharp.

The night before our anniversary I realized I didn’t have a card for her so I seen a chunk of 1/4 ply laying there and thought what the heck I’ll write on that, well that ended up turning into a desk name plate/ biz card holder LOL. Oh well she dug that too, so again thats all that matters LOL

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

The pictograph looks like cave paintings from France. Far out, man.

Great job on the carving! Every now and then I try my hand at it and generally fail. I always commend those who get carvings to turn out nice. I like the vertical splines too, that’s the best part about woodworking, you can do whatever you want!!! Very awesome gifts, nothing better than handcrafted goodness.
