We bought a house here in Hudson last May, and after moving in we found the closets to have poorly constructed shelving in each of them…nailed together and not cut straight. Not able to hold weight! So I finally got time this winter to take them all apart, cut them square, and build this book case. My first post to Lumberjocks after lurking for a few weeks, great site!

Stained with this home made recipe using beets and spinach (http://bit.ly/1nnosFV) and sealed with beeswax.

I like it,the construction looks solid, and the DIY dye looks warm,I have never experimented with homemade stains but it looks like you are on the right track.

Thanks! The home made stain is real easy and cheap. Has a pretty unique color. Going to make several pieces for the dining room in the coming months to match the color, will post them as they happen.
