This is one of my first projects ever. A simple spoon carved from a piece of birch firewood. Finished with linseed oil.

Nicely done!
I believe making a spoon teaches a person much about woodworking and is a great first project.
Yours has a good balanced design and smooth shaping.

BTW, where did you get your curved knife, I like it.?

Very nice. I like the pics too, nice composition. I got a big ash log that wants to be a couple spoons (among other things) instead of firewood. Cheers!

Andy, this is a Mora hook knife/spoon carving knife #162. I bought it here in Poland, but I bet it’s quite easy to find in online stores.
