Toy Shark push toy from David Wakefield’s “Toymaking Basics”

Pine 2×6” for the body and assorted Ikea bed slats for the head, fins and wheels.
Pegs on the insides of the front wheels cause the head to pivot up and then clamp down as the toy is pushed forward. Great design.

Painted with craft store acrylics. Finished with a spray acrylic. Shark is more grey than blue. Main picture was a last minute cell phone picture before I gave it away.

Went with the googlie eyes because the peg and end cap ones I tried made the shark look a bit to scary for me. Well, at least too scary for a toy.
