Rustic Pecan and Cedar End Table I made this week for an internet customer, I was tempted to chip the bark off but I did not and I kind of like it that way, so I let epoxy soak into the bark a little between the sapwood and bark….I used local Pecan on the top and local cedar on the legs. It is 24”h x 20”w x 20”d…..I think the pecan and cedar go together well, at least the sapwood of the pecan matches the cedar a little bit….the pecan was reclaimed from that last tornado we had threw here…
The legs are free-hand mortised in 1” deep into the 2” thick top with a 3/4” straight bit and backed up with titebond 2 and 2, 2.5 inch pocket hole screws on each leg on two sides….oh well work is good therapy right now for me, no matter what it is….Be Well Ya’ll

Hi Frank;
Nice end table. The bark on the edge does work well with the design.
What’s the story on the painting in the photo?
Is that your work?

Frank,
Les beat me to it: What’s with the painting? It’s a show stealer.

Thanx everyone for the kind comments. I can paint but not that good yet. My mother who is originally from Liverpool, England has an art gallery in Dallas, TX and over the years has had several artists who worked for her and did limited edition runs of certain paintings and I try to sell off some of the overstock when I can. So I have a lot in my shop, most are on canvas and stored in tubes and need to be stretched on a wood frame and framed so when I have time I do that.
That one painting there of Mary Magdalene always stops people in their tracks and gets a lot of good comments.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Bruce Eagle, illustrator, has done extensive work for Disney and Touchstone Pictures, including promotional advertising pieces and billboards, most notably Batman, Rocketeer, and Beauty and the Beast. Since “crossing-over” from commercial illustrator to Fine Artist, his works sell out quickly.

God Bless all of you….......That is Mary Magdelene at Jesus’s feet, which tends to bring a little debate and controversy to the table and perplexity in my own mind and soul….......But I always try to keep an open mind.
