I built this one so my 3 year old could reach the kitchen counter. I recycled the pine that the original cabinets were made from. Unfortunately, the addition of stripping paint, flattening, and surfacing the boards added a couple hours to the project, but it helped me use up some of the overabundance of scrap consuming my shop.

Nice. What is the finish on it?

Thanks Kirk.

The finish:
1. sizing = water and wood glue
2. dye = Rit. Works well with caveats
3. Sherwin Williams Sherwood oil stain – Fruitwood
4. Sherwood precat lacquer

I love the Shaker style. Nice work.
