Found these in storage, just in time for my middle son to ask if he could give it to his girlfriend for her birthday… with two pieces of jewelry in it.
Cherry with a couple of hastily applied coats of minwax paste wax on it for a fiinish. 
He wanted to use this one because of the Heart shaped key which keeps the lid secure.


That was the simpler one. I still have this one:

Also cherry, both were cut from salvaged firewood way back when…

Lemarchand needs to watch out there is a new puzzle box builder. (Thats a hellraiser reference in case anyone doesnt know) http://www.pyramid-gallery.com/

Thanks guys, They’re fun, and back when I was starting out a couple of years ago I made a bunch of them.

Those are some pretty slick boxes! Very nicely done. Did you use a coping saw to do those groove cuts? It looks like too tight of a cut for a bandsaw. Great craftsmanship, in any event!
