I quit smoking last November with the help of a nicotine vaporizer (aka a fancy/advanced version of an e-cigarette). As a result I have a bunch of small bottles of flavored nicotine liquids rolling around every time I opened my desk drawer. With some scrap red oak originally from Lowe’s, I made this tall-sided organizer to keep the little bottles in check. The slots are designed for specific sized bottles & the sides are tall enough so the bottle caps just barely poke out over the top, so they are protected from UV light & don’t accidentally get knocked over.

The sides are simple rabbets, the dividers are dados, the bottom has rabbeted edges & dados for the 3 dividers. I used Timbermate Red Oak to fill in the grain & finished with danish oil.

It’s nothing fancy, but I’m mostly a turner & don’t make many things with corners. It’s square, sits flat & does it’s job rather well.

very nice job. I also quit smokeing in December and now I can afford the cost of the wood to build a nice box like this too.

Thank you. I’m still using my vaporizer, but I haven’t had a smoke in almost 5 months. I’m still using nicotine, but significantly less than when I was smoking or even made the switch… and I’m still stepping it down. The hardest part was all the other nasty chemicals that are in the real thing which are so much more addictive & dangerous than nicotine.

Congrats to you for quitting as well!
