I got a chance to try two woods I have never gotten to turn mainly because of their price. Nothing cheap about either one of these. I turned this call for a guy in Arizona it is DIW I added some small pieces of ABW to then let dry a few days. You need sharp tools and light cuts for both of these but they finish like glass. I turned this one old style meaning no band to cover up the wood.

The guts started out as a regular Echo insert that I took apart then turned down to fit the new wooden exhaust. This was a first too and I really like the way it works even if it takes about an hour to get things exactly right with it.

Here are a couple of views of the call thanks for taking a look.

Thanks Dave it was fun to work and finishes so slick it I was amazed. I buffed it to 4000 grit before putting the stain or clear on. I got some for myself in the deal but it will probably go into items for sale.
