Another Beetle Kill Pine project

The latest job is a towel cabinet for our bath. Mostly made from yellow Pine stained with Minwax golden pecan. Doors have inserts of diagonal Beetle Kill Pine and the knobs are my signature antler pulls. Doors have mortised hinges and magnetic latches. Size is roughly 28” wide x 30” tall and 10” deep. This replaces the small cabinet I made before that now goes to my granddaughter for a small 1/2 bath.

Love working with the BK Pine but it kinda tough to get a hold of any quantity. My local mill had never even heard of it. I only discovered it about 2 months ago seeing a project by my buddy Monte Pittman. He does some really beautiful work and some of it is with BKP that he mills himself.

I am finally ready to ship wood to you also. Can’t believe how fast time is flying by.

Great job on this ag. I like the color combination.

I’m ready for the wood. I’ve got several things to do with it.

Nice cabinet! That beetle kill made some beautiful panels and I like the angled look. Monte is the King of beetle kill!

I first learned of Beetle Kill Pine seeing some of Monte’s projects. He is the King Beetle. He can just go to the woods, cut down a dead Pine, bring the log home and mill it himself. That’s effecientcy. Must be neat not having to wait for someone to ship the wood and the shipping costing more than the wood itself.

Wonderful cabinet! Like the wood combo, the door really stand out and the pulls are unique which complements the whole cabinet. Great job!
