This is a small project I should have made a long time ago! Thanks to Stevinmarin first off, this was one of his projects.

I am always looking for my pencil up in the woodworking shop, ALWAYS! I have been tripping over a chunk of cedar on the floor so I put it to good use. Now if I can only remember to put the pencil back in the holder when done ;-P

Nice. I use old 1,2,3 blocks I have as pencil holders – same idea

I carried a pencil behind my ear for so many years it still feels odd when there isn’t one there.
Now however, I need glasses most of the time and the pencil finding problem is raising it’s ugly head.
This isn’t a bad idea, I may have to give it a go.

I agree with shipwright, I also have taught my right ear to secure a pencil. My 5 year old daughter is even trying to gain that skill, her ears are not quite big enough yet though.

I’m another pencil eared woodworker. I end up carrying them back into the house. I too should get something to store pencils and keep them in the shop at hand. Good work for such a on going problem.

LOL… I’ve got a pencil at every single station because of the missing pencil syndrum.. I do still loose them every now n then, only to find the darn thing in my pocket… hehehehe
