King size headboard made of reclaimed lumber from an 1890’s farm place in my area. The specific lumber is from the granary and the property owner said it was built when the property was settled, but there were band sawmill marks and wire nails used so that is highly unlikely…still old though and the customer was very happy! Her Next commission will be matching night stands. The structural lumber was resawn from the beams and the planks are the half lap siding. Finish is Varathane Weathered Grey stain and two coats wipe on poly. Pro Tip: When sanding reclaimed barn wood ALWAYS wear a dust mask! I know you should any time you sand but it is critical you do when working with lumber that may have seriously dangerous chemical residue, animal waste and who knows what else on it.
