Nicely done! Did you use a parting tool to make the grooves?

i did use a parting tool, so the scale is a little bigger than most.

I’ll try one with just the skew and see how that comes out. I have some lovely Black Mulberry burnin a hole in my pocket … wait a minute…pocket holes? nvm
