I turned a few bowls last week, but the photographs didn’t come out well on most of them. This bowl was turned from a piece of Ambrosia Maple.

Thanks everyone. I got 2 pieces of the Ambrosia Maple, and this was the first one I turned. It had some minor cracks that still showed up in the finished bowl. I saved the better piece of wood till my skills improve a little more. I had to look up the name, but found out that this wood is so named because it is Maple that has been attacked by the Ambrosia beetle.

Have your say...
