Here’s a bench I made for my planer. I used Mattias’ bench plans.

I’m just happy I managed to wrestle warped, twised Home Cheapo 2×4s into a sturdy, stable bench.

Next I will build a table that runs through the planer for long boards to slide across.

I have that same planer. IF you can manage level / correct height you may want to consider adding in-feed and out-feed tables to help reduce snipe on that machine.

That’s essentially I’m doing when I wrote, “Next I will build a table that runs through the planer for long boards to slide across.”

Yes, it snipes badly. I hope to minimize that. If I can’t eliminate it, then I will accept it and at some point I want to build this drum sander. This will have the added benefit of working to plane down end grain and other wood that the planer would stutter on.

I also have that same plainer I haven’t used it much yet but the few times I did it worked great
Have you had any problems with yours. I got mine from homedepot as a discontinued item open box and did not get the tools or Manuel other wise it was brand new. The price was a steel at 57 bucks

I also wonder if the blades are easy to replace and change out ?

I’ve got snipe. Snipe, snipe, snipe. I thought I was done snipe hunting back in the Boy Scouts. Mattias has info on how to reduce snipe here.

I have not changed the blades. My existing blades put faint lines into the boards, so they must already be chipped out. I should see about fixing that.

Have your say...
