A small(ish) bench for our entryway. Cherry benchtop and apron, walnut legs. Finished with a coat of BLO and four coats of glossy water-based polyurethane. Filled in a couple of knot holes with epoxy. I really like how the finish turned out – the BLO brought out the grain perfectly, and the glossy poly catches the light just how I wanted it to. Plus it should be durable enough to stand up to long term wear and tear.

This was my first attempt at fine furniture. I still have a ton of cherry, so I’m probably going to make more matching items as I gradually replace all of our flat-pack furniture with handmade pieces.

It’s a beautiful bench and nicely done.

Like it, simple and well made bench. The top is gorgeous with those grains and figures, great mix with the pretty walnut legs. Great job!
