Project Information

I milled this walnut wood from an urban log riddled with holes and rotten areas. Based on the condition of the wood I decided to build a project that will look good with "weathered" wood. With six drawers and 2 shelves this is a very practical cabinet that will fit books or a laptop PC. It is based on a cabinet built by Wharton Esherick. My dimensions are 20" high, 22" wide and 12" deep. The hinges are Boss hidden hinges that allows the opening of the doors and folding back on the side of the cabinet.

Zipsss that cabinet rocks! I really like the angles, mixed with sapwood and 'holes' for the drawer pulls. It really did come together for a great overall piece. Lots of work, too. Nice, thanks for posting.

Ze'ev Beautiful engineered chest. I'm assuming that the angles allowed you to get rid of the punk wood. A great looking and interesting looking cabinet.
