Finally getting around to making some bedroom furniture and decided I want two 3 foot NIGHT STANDS. It was easy to make the decision to splurge on cherry. Living in the Midwest it is relatively affordable and easily to procure. I have a ridiculously large master bedroom so needed something large for scale ( 14×23). I did not put any drawers in it and will be opting to build small boxes to sit on the top adjacent to some new lamps. The finished picture is after I applied the BLO and will wait a few days and add many coats of lacquer or possibly poly to protect it. The legs were purchased online and are also cherry. Thanks for stopping by!

Great job. As much as I like turning my own legs, they have gotten so inexpensive to buy that I purchase legs for my projects that require a decorative leg as well. You mentioned that cherry is relatively inexpensive in your neck of the woods. I pay about 7 dollars a board foot for 4/4 cherry up here, would that be about the same as what you pay in the Midwest?

Beautiful table, like the cherry and it’s a great addition to your bedroom. Great job!

Have your say...
