A jewelry box I made my wife for our anniversary. This is the first time I have attempted a jewelry box and I think it turned out fairly well. It is made from red oak and padauk. I used double sided tape to secure the velvet to the dividers. Cutting all the little pieces of velvet was probably the biggest pain in the butt of the entire project. I cut the 1”x4” oak boards in half to put the 3/4” pieces of padauk in the middle and used my table saw spline jig to cut all the splines. I use a Freud FTG blade in my table saw to cut the boards and the splines. I am very happy with this blade. I did not need a jointer to go over the cuts after I made them. I cut a rabbet in the lid bottom so it sits securely.
