Spring is here and I wanted to build some thing for the season, I never was really in to making bird houses but have changed my tune recently. I saw this idea at an Amish market I went to not long ago, theirs were made from plank ends from the milling of logs with the bark on them, so I decided to try it my way. Also with this as a dual purpose project, I really enjoyed it and it was fun and simple to make, enjoy.

Nice! Just one small suggestion…. Make the front roof overhang a bit wider. Adds shade to the opening for the “guests” and less chance of rain getting in.

All my birdhouses always have an overhang big enough for the bird to sit on the perch and stay out of the rain. We’ve seen many times when it’s raining where every house had a bird sitting on the perch staying out of the rain

Great birdhouse, like the look of cedar and the wide base. I’m sure there will be little guests moving in.

Have your say...
