Some fun I had on Friday while I waited for the glue to dry on the 12 boards made that day…
These pics show the work being performed with my 1290 series Laser Engraving Machine…
Last pic is a display at a local car show…
Materials used:
Maple
Huon Pine
White melamine coated Masonite.

Bet those engraved car plaques go well at the car shows.

Nice work!

Lookin’ good Larry!

I was looking at that last pic of all the cars and wondering why certain ones looked much better than other ones (at least to me) and then it hit me – they all had light (or no) backgrounds! The ones without a darker background seem to jump off the wood while the one with a dark surround appear sunken.

I don’t know – just giving my opinion. They all look great!

Cheers!

Look great. Seems it would be terrific if you could bring the laser to the show and customize on the spot… e.g. have a bunch of boxes of boards and people could bring in photos of their choice and have a project personalized with their pic on the spot.

Be great at a car show – - everyone has a pic of their car on a memory stick.
