Tiny Pine End Grain Bowl #2

This is the 2nd little end grain bowl I got off that pine log/branch I brought home. The piece was a section of the pine trunk with a thick branch piece coming out. This is from the branch. The log will become a bowl or two soon enough.

I had just made a thicker, practical version so I wanted to make a thin, artsy bowl this time. I got the walls very thin, a smidgen over 1/16th inch if I had to guess.

Again this was hand sanded from 100 to 2000 after sanding on the lathe to about 320/400 (cant remember exactly.)
This was finished with Formby’s Tung Oil Finish.

I turned this a few months back, and it remains one of my favorites to this day.

good work, turning with the pith in and not having it crack is nice. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful bowl! Great shape and it came out really thin and smooth. Like those pretty grains, colors and figures of your pine. Great job!
