The dining table is project 12 from our furniture making course at Lethenty Mill Furniture; it is aimed at those with some experience of furniture making.

The table pictured is made of home grown beech with a fairly featureless top. I have used the same design in elm where the top has been “wany” (natural) edged, giving a more dramatic result.

At 1850mm x 940mm, this table will seat six people comfortably. The overhanging ‘D’ end allows for the arms of a carver chair to be pushed in underneath the table when not in use.

That is a winner! Nice work. I really like the base.

Very nice design. The beech gives it a very contemporary look. Thanks for the post.

A very nice design for a dinning table Pushing the chairs inside is the best feature of the table.

Very attractive design. I like the legs, the foot and the strechers design, simple and practical and most importantly very strong.
Thanks for sharing.

That is a class piece of work. I like strongly figured timber, but a piece doesn’t have to have this to be beautiful. If I buy a bigger house at some point I’d like a table like this in it.

Lethentymill: This is a solid design in strength, I especially like how you have many curved shapley surfaces to counter the straight edges, it keeps the eyes flowing over the whole piece.

Allan, this one great looking table. How long did it take to build. I have to agree with everyone else, the design on the legs and strectchers are great. Looking to see more of your work. Ed.
