Project Information

I promised my son I'd build him a bed months ago. The problem was I really didn't know how, so I kept putting it off. I finally decided to just do what I could and see how it tuned out. I used recycled construction lumber to build the frame; the panels are made from old barn wood. It's full of mistakes that I had to work around or cover up or correct, but it turned out well enough to please him. And I THINK it's solid enough to hold up for the long term. We'll see!

Nice looking bed. I think it is great that you used reclaimed wood to build this for your son. I am sure that the mistakes you made (which were not visible anywhere in the pics) will have yielded many valuable lessons. I know, as a relatively new woodworker myself that every time I do a project and inevitably mess things up I learn a great deal (after a bunch of frustration!).

Again, nice job!
