Project Information

Inspired by the work of Tag84, process can be seen here: http://lumberjocks.com/Tag84/blog/38357

Maple, Cherry, Walnut. Rustin dainsh oil finish.

in the 4th image you can see the board before sanding, on my shop built thickness drum sander. Here is a video showing the sander at work.
I have to be honest and to say that i am disappointed with the overall accuracy. since this is not my first board, and the previous ones i made were more complicated and asked for more steps in process, i was expecting a fine result. i had some major gaps after gluing (shown clearly in the video) and i used wood filler to fix that. it can be seen when looked up closely. I guess this was caused because i tried to glue all the board at once.

I thought I spotted this board in your drum sander project.

It looks pretty good. I dump a lot of projects because gaps. J
Even the ones I kept have plenty. Just like you because I rush and try to do the whole thing at once.

The first picture reminds me of this one at one of last Vegas casino.

You're planing this w/ carbide / shellix type planer? If so, does this dull / bog down your planer? Or do you use a drum sander? Gorgeous.
