I was asked by a guy I worked with during Christmas last year to make him some gifts. His friends like the teams as shown on the pens.
I used a white solid surface materials and cut in at an angle to add the PVC edgebanding stripes. Then the “team” decals were added along with the initials for the person receiving the pen.
I did try to include a 1/8” thick pc of aluminum on the cowboys pen but it let loose on me during the drilling process. But I think the pen still turned out ok!
I am working on a Vikings pen for my Dad’s Birthday this year. I will post when its done if you all would like to see it.

Comments are welcome along with any questions and or items I could improve on!!!

Thanks for looking

Max & Brett,
Thanks for taking a look at these 2. These so far are the biggest decals I have made.

Really unique pens….
I like!!!

I would LOVE them if….
They were Buffalo Bill’s pens!!! ;^)

I am curious, as to how you do the “decals”???

Randy- (my best friends name in highschool) thanks for the kind comments!!!

Did you do plastic car models when you were growing up? If you did then its the same because you do it with waterslide decals. You can get the paper online and print out at home. Seal the print job as directions call for than give the deal a bath and place it where it looks good on the pen. You will need to cover the decal with CA glue to give it a safe finish.

”...Randy- (my best friends name in highschool)...”
What did he change his name to, after high school??? ;^)

Thanks for the info.
Is a laser printer needed, or will an inkjet do???

Randy- you got a lol on that one.
They make paper for both printer types. Just make sure you buy paper that matches your kind of printer. I use inkjet paper at home.

I do tend to make people laugh out loud….
Sometimes by looking at me, sometimes with me!!!

Thanks for the info. I’ll be looking into this.

I am in the market for a new printer and was looking only at laser printers, as there is an image transfer technique that requires a laser printer. Your project post may just make my decision MUCH easier!!!

Thanks, again…..
