My wife had given me a print-out of a porch swing bird feeder she had found on the internet somewhere a few month back and said she wanted two of them. Well I finally got around to building them for her. It did not take to long but sure did use more wood than I expected and when I bought the hardware from the local hardware store and gave her the bill I think she was as shocked as I was. I used Oak rather than poplar as the plans called for. Plans stated a 30” board at 1/2 Inch thick and one at 1/4” thick. Actually my boards were slightly thicker. I thought I had enough materials to make a second feeder but I did not so I ended up using 2 additional boards.

For most of the construction I used a pin nailer and 5/8” or 1” nails. Finish was just a spray can of clear.

For Plans, Do a Bing Search for: Porch Swing Bird Feeder

I just signed up for this site and looked at two projects. Am I missing some thing? I don’t see any diagrams or measurements given etc. etc. I guess I was looking for “step by step,” instructions to build these projects.

Cool bird feeder! Unique design, well executed. Great and fun to see outdoors with the birds. Great job!
