Project Information

This is not my first 3d cutting board, but its the first time that i designed and worked out the process.
Maple, Cherry and end grain walnut. with laser etching in Hebrew.
Since this is not a fully end grain borad, it is not really meant for cutting, but serves as a bread board, for the jewish custom of bread (=Halla) on saturday (=Shabbat).
I was surprised from the high accuracy and the ease of gluing. i was expecting some gaps, but i had none.
Made poissible with my self built drum sander

machine. will post about this machine later

I would love to hear about your drum sander.

Yeah, +1 on the drum sander write-up.

Pretty board. I've not attempted anything like this yet. Mine are pretty vanilla.

This looks like it would take 197,448 clamps on the glue up.

Thank you all for your encouraging words. it really helps to hear good compliments from professionals.
about the clamping issue - it actually took 4 clamps, and a good metal jig i built. will add some photos later. im working now on an end grain version of this board, will update later…
Thanks again!
