I generally do one large project a year…and this year I decided to begin replacing some of our old 30-year furniture we bought when we were first married (you know the type, made of veneer and mdf/particle board) I liked this particular dresser plan in Woodsmith and with very little variation, made it to the indicated specs.
The case is cherry veneer plywood, as were the dividers. The plans called for solid plywood horizontal dividers, which really added to the weight….next time I build a dresser, I will use the web-style dividers.
The base, top, and drawer fronts are solid cherry, with alder used as the drawer sides and backs. The drawer pulls are 3/4” black marble pulls available from Lee Valley. The base and top were stained with General Finishes Spiced Walnut, the rest of the case and drawer fronts were stained with Miniwax Natural. A few coats of General Finishes gloss poly completed the project
