My father really saved my butt on this one :) I hadn’t sanded the pieces enough to compensate for the extra thickness the clear coat added so we had some parts sticking and not moving freely. So we put our heads together and he figured out how to make everything work. Thank you again Dad :D

That’s excellent! I’d love to see a video of it moving.

Hope you know that John Hutchinson, the designer of your dragon, is a LumberJock and has posted his version of it here.
Nice work. Good selection of woods. Great to involve your son in the build.
Keep up the good work.

You’re right, April 2000 issue of Woodworkers Journal. Thanks to John for an excellent article. Except for a couple of self inflicted issues it was a pretty straight forward build.

Very classy. Love the contrasts of the wood and how smoothly he (she?) works. It really comes to life. Great job.

If you can’t find a copy of the April 2000 Woodworkers Journal, you might try contacting the designer, John Hutchinson, who is a member here.

Happy News! The dragon sold at the first craft fair we took it to! A long lady bought it to decorate the nursery for her baby due to be born in a couple months.
Guess my son and I will have to make another one!!
