Sin(x) cutting board

The core is Maple and the edges are Walnut. I made it using a few pieces of scrap I had laying around. I like the curvature but the dark center of the pieces of maple is bothering me. Does anybody have any solution to that or will it go away on its own?

Nice cutting board. Are the dark centers of the maple boards burn marks from sanding?

They aren’t burns because the marks only appeared after applying the mineral oil if I remember correctly.

Cool design. I’m afraid the color variations just come standard with the Maple. It’s always a surprise…...looks good.

Nice design! If you ask me, I think the dark splotches make it look even better.

Dude, the board looks AWESOME. I don’t have any issues with the maple parts…go with it. It’s the nature of wood to have variation.

GREAT (and inspiring) work.
