I made these bent wood bamboo matching ring and bracelet set. I am learning with every one I make. Fun project to do in this long N.Y. winter. These are inlayed with mother of peral shells ground up.

This is a bent wood design and not done on a lathe.I made a cone shaped adapter to hold the finished bracelet to cut the grove in .it for the inlay .The bamboo veneer is bent around a dowel and glued with gel superglue. For the bracelet I went around the dowel about 4 times and sanded smooth before cutting the inlay. Hope this describes the process well enough.

Great Job! I like the inlay. What is the diameter of the bracelet?

The diameter is 3 inches and my wife says it could be about a half inch smaller. It is 3/4 inch wide also.

Looks good. I just finished two rings this week. I’m going to try to inlay glass on my next ring.
Did you use superglue to hold the inlay as well?

I use a 5 minuite epoxy for the inlay. I want to try glass also but I think it may be hard to final sand. The softer stone or shell seem to sand well. The clear epoxy must dry overnight before sanding. I put it on my wood dowel to sand also.

They’re very pretty. The pearl inlay looks great with the bamboo. I’m sure they’ll be hits for the ladies.
