About a year ago, a famous wood turner in our club meeting did a presentation on green wood turning. He was also encouraging us to use Iron Bark Eucalyptus, since it is a very common tree in Southern California. Well, I came across couple of logs about a month ago and I gave it a try. This bowl is 12 in diameter and 4 inches high. I finished it 5 coats Mahony’s Walnut oil. Let me know what you think.

I’ve never heard of this wood but if most of it looks like this then I hope to use it someday myself, definitely.

Very nice form and foot. I haven’t seen bark eucalyptus either, I really like the color.
