A mallet I made as a gift. Walnut head with oak, walnut & Purple Heart handle. Turned …ha…get it… out really nice.

That is a nice mallet. Really like the celtic knot in the handle. How did you attach the head to the handle. I’m assuming you turned the handle, drilled the head, glued the handle and head together then turned the head.

You got it right except on turning the whole unit. I drilled the head and turned it separately. Turned the handle and then glued them together as the final step.

The Celtic knot turned (yes I got it!) out nice, overall a handsome mallet. The oak and walnut look great together.

Gorgeous mallet! The knot is a great accent and the wood combo is really attractive. Great work!
