Treasure Box for the wedding

My son is getting married this weekend March 29th. I offered to make bride and groom pens but my son and his fiance’ also commissioned me to make a box. Rather than signing a guest book, guests will fill out cards with their thoughts and best wishes which will be placed in the box and locked away. On an anniversary in the future, the box will be unlocked and the thoughts and best wishes read to each other.

This was a long haul project with lots of firsts for me and was completed mostly by hand. The entire story is blogged here. For those that have been following along. Thanks for your support and encouragement. I’m Done!!

Great stuff Terry. Its good to know that something the old man made will play such a big part in their lives. Enjoy the wedding bud!

Turned out fantastic Terry. That will be a great keepsake and part of the day. Learned a lot along the way, and I bet you did too. Go kill some more plum trees.

Daughter is getting married in October and I am doing something like that for them. I can only hope it turns out as well. One of those gifts they can can let there kids fight over in 80 years.
