My stool is made of red cedar. Made it woods class. I cut two pieces for each leg then jointed one side and glued each piece together with biscuits in the middle. For the top I did the same as the legs. Before I put the legs, sides and top together, I routed the top and the legs. After that I glued and screw the sides to the legs then the top on last. I finished with stain and a semi gloss polyurethane.

Chris and the rest of you guys,
Welcome to all you guys from Wahoo high school. Great job on the step stools! It’s good to see so many young woodworkers getting started. You will find a great group of sawdust makers here … and women. The range of talent here will become evident as you look through the projects and visit the members’ home pages. We will be watching for more projects from all of you.

Constructive criticism, the stool you made looks like Cherry to me. On your next project try to rout the profile in 2 light passes. The picture looks like there is a little burning from the router bit. Cherry is very prone to burning, light passes and a sharp bit will prevent some but not all. Hope you catch the bug and keep wanting to learn more. thanks for posting
