Stroller Board

So apparently double strollers are expensive, and apparently even these things mass produced out of molded plastic and built who knows where still go for $60 – $100. And, well, I’m cheap, so when I saw my wife eyeballing these online I asked her very nicely if I could have a crack at it before hitting “buy.” This is what I came up with. It was made entirely out of what I had laying around in my shop. The wood is 3/4 ply (I think cherry?) and the casters I found laying in a corner at work while I was on duty touring one of the to be demo’d buildings.

No real plan just a rough sketch and some measurements for height and wheel clearance. I wish there was more to it than that. It works great, corners well and rides pretty smoothly. My daughter seems to enjoy it and now my wife doesn’t have to worry about how to get the two of them around. The best part of all was the “mom jealousy” I got to witness when we took the kiddos to the park. Plus now maybe I can talk her into letting me spend the difference on “improving my ability to continue to make things to make her happy.”

Thanks for looking.

Nice solution makes it very versatile as well as you can just leave that off when she is ready to walk and you are not stuck with the larger stroller. I can not believe some of the prices that they charge for those strollers.

Cool idea. Reminds me of the thing operator stands on behind a big walk behind mower.
