Mystery wood end table

Made this out a nice piece of mystery wood given to me by a friend.

I use the cast iron base of an old, and i do mean old, school chair that i bought with the matching desk.

I couldn’t salvage the wood seat so I decided to use the base for this table. It weighs a ton!

The table top was finished with poly.

I stabilised a crack with a walnut key.

The base was stripped and repainted with VHT wrinkle effect paint and baked on in my oven, The raised letters at the bottom of the base forming the word SUSSEX were pinstriped in GOLD!

Awesome table! The gorgeous top goes very well with the metal legs and the ribbon is a great accent. Great job!
