This bowl was turned from box elder and hand carved freehand. It measures 5” tall by 7” wide. It is finished with BLO. All comments and critiques are welcome.

What kind of carving gouge/tool are you using? Are you using a mallet? Is the piece still on your lathe while you’re doing the carving?
