This is something I built out of scrap lumber I had in the garage. A local photographer wanted a doll size bed for newborns. I made the posts by gluing two pieces of 1×3 pine and a 1/2 inch round over. To join the side rails to the posts, I used mortise and tenon. The headboard and footboard are joined with three 3/8 dowels. I wanted to make sure it was stable, so I but 5 strips of 1×2 pine and used a pocket hole jig to join them to the side rails. The bottom is 1/4 birch I had. It is strong enough to hold me, so as long as they don’t put and babies over 180 pounds, I think it will hold up nicely. At her request I painted it antique white instead of staining. This was a really simple and easy project. I just have a bad habit of not taking pictures, so I had to have a post of at least one to get started on this website.

Nice job. Perhaps someday I will have the need for one of these.

Looks great and well made. Like the rounded corners and neat color. Great job!
