I wanted to make a different(for me) kind of box this time so I decided to make a tea box. Well, after I made the box I discovered I didn’t have a piece of wood large enough to make the lid, so I decided to try book matching some quilted maple(new for me also). It turned out so pretty I thought I would make it into a jewelry box with a sliding tray. It is made of Sapele, walnut, and maple. I used two coats of medium walnut Watco oil (to bring out the grain in the maple) and one coat of natural Watco, two coats shellac for the sanding sealer, two coats of spray lacquer, and a couple coats of wax.
Thanks for looking!
