My wife wanted a bench for guests to sit down on when removing or putting their shoes on when they came to visit. After looking at many designs on line I chose two that I really liked and combined aspects of each along with my choice of woods. My son Dan and I built it. Here is the final result. Oak, Red Heart, and Padauk.

Good looking bench Dale! Clean lines and great idea having storage in it. I wish we had a place to put a bench like yours. I like the idea of No Shoes in the house!
Thanks for sharing!

Very nice design Dale and beautiful workmanship on it too. I like the wood choices and color contrast. Most of us here in Norway have hardwood floors and wearing shoes in the house is a no no, but not everyone is thoughtful enough to provide a place to sit down to remove or put their shoes on!

Gorgeous. I’d love one of those at my entrance. Well done!

This is really nice, clean, and the wood combos are awesome, I think.
