Here is another older project I just stumbled accross. This cage was not so difficult once the design came to mind. The problem was contemplating a cage design that would not look out of place in living room while still maintaining 115 degree temps in one place while letting the temps drop to 80 everywhere else. A bit of glare in the picture but it’s all made of Red Oak, ply and solid woods.

very nice cage. I would have done something different for the stand part, but it looks like a nice piece. Good job.

Thanks. I actually sold several of these online a year ago. With the same design and 1/2” glass we waterproofed a few for turtle and fish tanks. Sadly I can not ignore the doctors imposed weight limits any longer so larger peices like this are out of my range. Reptile folks seem to love the design and it’s flat version as well.
As for the base, this particular customer wanted a base that would allow them to put heat under the floor in the winter months, thus the inset. Can’t seem to find any pics of the other tanks but most had decorative base with cabinets for pet supplies and or pumps for the fish tanks.
