Nice work Keith!
You can create a removable glass or plexiglass inlay that fits in the cross that’s coated with phosphorous. You can put a piece of radium or some other alpha emitting substance and it will make the glass cross glow in the glory of the lord!
For safer handling when loading the radioactive material, you can use a hole saw to put two large diameter holes in the front side and attach lead lined gloves. Now you have a glove box that the whole congregation will love!
