Solid 3/4” mahogany. I laminated the wood together after ripping and cross-cutting, with the help of 6mm Festool Dominos. Then I took a rabbeting router bit and routed out the back side. Cut the acrylic plates and white cardstock with my Epilog laser engraver. Didn’t have any way to secure the pictures in their holes so I used some 1×1/4 inch walnut solid edge banding. I counter sunk the holes. used standard frame hanging hardware.

Graphics and text are also done on my Epilog laser.

Thanks for looking

Very nice. Here’s a link for buttons that work very well for holding pictures in place: http://www.amazon.com/Plated-Ridged-Picture-Button-Screws/dp/B00BTI391E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394981279&sr=8-1&keywords=picture+frame+turn+buttons. Just be sure to pre-drill

Thanks Roger!!! Just ordered 1,000 of them. Excellent price, the ones at the craft stores around here had em for about $.35 each. Hardwar store had them for $.63 each. Going to be doing a lot of these and the link you sent was a Godsend!!!

Great idea and it’s a beautiful picture frame. You showed the beauty of the wood. Like the name engravings. Great job!

Have your say...
