First of all a big thank you to everyone on this site, I look and admire, I read and digest both help and tips that are posted on this forum which has spurred me on even though I’m not particularly good.
The first piece is an attempt at a wine caddy which was made from mystery wood from Africa and Purple Heart. The item was a gift to my in-laws which is why the flag/map of Ghana.
The second piece I made was a Jewellery Box, which was a birthday gift to my wonderful wife. That I made with Pippy Oak for sides and drawers, the top and bottom is my mystery wood!
Can anyone out there help me identify the wood I’ve used, it was given to me by my father-in-law who tells me that it was rare and came from Ghana (Africa) in 1964! I’ve tried various searches but cannot seem to come to a conclusive answer.
Thanks
Steve

That’s kind of you to put it right side up Rick, not sure what I did wrong in posting though?
