Most of these vials are going to participants of a pioneer trek. They were purchased by one person to gift to those who will need them on the trek.
The ones without the trek decal will go into my for sale stock.
Made from Maple, Mahogany, Walnut/Cherry, Spectra-ply & Wenge.
These were fun to make!
Thanks for looking.

So, a little explaination please…

What are these “vials” for, what purpose do the serve?

They are beautifully made and appear to be excellent craftsmanship, just don’t know what they do and how they work…

Keep up the good work!

Be Careful!

Nice looking but I too would like to know what they are used for.

Thanks

I think TheWoodman2000 is LDS (aka: Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), or very close to some who are. The trek is to give the people who participate perspective on what their ancestors did to cross the plains to Utah , on foot using hand carts, after persecutions became too harsh.

The vials will likely contain consecrated olive oil which is used when administering to the sick or injured. Or they could contain prescriptions for those who need to take them along. Or… they are a small give away to remind the recipients of their participation and have nothing to do with being LDS. But if I had to put my money on it, and I wouldn’t ;) , I would stick with my first guess.

Where do you get the vial hardware TheWoodman2000?

Doug,Joe,Chris & Throin,
Thank you for taking a look at my project!!!
I use my work email to see when comments are added so sorry for taking so long to respond. But I have a few minutes before the buzzer goes off.

I should have added a little more info to start with not trying to be coy with info. I just didn’t want to make anyone think I was pushing religion on them by adding to much about the church I belong to.

Thorin – you are correct I do belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints. The info you added about the vials is correct 100%. I get the kits from craftsuppliesusa they are perfume vial kits. They contain a small glass tube with a plastic stopper. This glass tube slides inside the turned shell. Then I add a split key ring.

All Jocks- I work with a Bishop of my church and he asked me to make these for him. He is going to gift them to members of his ward to carry the Consecrated Oil in. Then if anyone needs a blessing of comfort during the Trek the Priesthood Brother-en can use it for that purpose. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me at any time.

Again thank you to all who have looked and commented.

Thanks for the info on craftsuppliesusa. I’m a fellow member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints. I am definitely going to look into these.

Very cool. Thus far my hubby and I have “dodged the bullet” and have not been assigned to be Pa and Ma on a trek. Our grandson asked me, “Why does Papa have white hair?” I always thought his hair was gray, so I took a second look. At any rate, these are wonderful and I those recipients will be very pleased to have a keepsake of their trek experience.
